BPM-WARIA Welcomes New
Members
As part of the merger with OMG, the work of BPMI has been split in two — work on specifications has merged
with an existing OMG Task Force (the soon to be renamed BEIDTF) the educational
and market engagement aspects of BPMI are now to be driven by a new BPMI
Steering Committee (effectively the BPMI Board Members plus the two chairs of
the BEIDTF).
To ensure that individuals (and firms that
do not want to join OMG) are catered for effectively, all former Class-B members
have joined BPM-WARIA.
BPM-WARIA is the authorized
representative of this important group. To facilitate this relationship,
Derek Miers (current co-chair of BPMI.org),
is now the official BPM-WARIA ambassador to OMG, and as such will function both
as the conduit of relevant information from OMG and as your analyst on the BPM
landscape. This unique industry partnership will enable you to stay in touch
with (and contribute) to BPMI's ongoing work, which will continue within the
OMG's framework.
The charter of the
Workflow
And Reengineering International Association
is to identify and clarify issues
that are common to users of workflow, electronic commerce and those who are
in the process of reengineering their organizations. The association facilitates
opportunities for members to discuss and share their experiences freely.
Established in 1992, WARIA's mission is to make sense of what's
happening at the intersection of Business Process Management,
Workflow and Electronic Commerce and reach clarity
through sharing experiences, product evaluations, networking between users and
vendors, education and training.
WARIA also works closely with the
Workflow Management
Coalition (WfMC). The WfMC is the international standards-setting
organization of workflow vendors, users, analysts and university/research
groups.
