3G Interactive, LLC is a global consulting firm headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. From our founding, our focus has been on working with global companies desiring to improve business processes, craft better business strategies, develop new products, enhance customer relationships, enter new markets, or build strong brands.

3G Interactive's Business Process Automation Group helps businesses to leverage the Internet, telecommunications technologies, and workflow applications to better manage how information and knowledge is processed, transferred, and shared within the enterprise. While other solution providers may focus on building a client a "great portal" or an extra/intranet, 3G Interactive strives instead to truly understand the client's problem areas and the impact that they have on the its core business and relationships with its customers. This allows us to recommend the right solution for the customer.

At 3G Interactive, we believe that building from the bottom-up is the only way to get the best return from process improvement dollars. Therefore, the first step is usually a thorough investigation into our client's business processes and if need be a re-mapping of its workflow for the identified problem area(s). Once we have together developed a more effective way of achieving the client's desired results, only then would we recommend an automated solution to further reduce costs and increase productivity.

Charlie Plesums has worked in the work management, records management, and document image processing industry since 1982. He is probably best known as the project leader and architect of the first large scale document imaging system - fifteen years later that system has 20,000 users. As a pioneer, practitioner, and subject matter expert in these technologies, he has spoken to over 15,000 people in 14 countries. Charlie provided the video work management tutorial on the CD ROM companion to the Workflow Handbook 2001. He is an officer of the Workflow Management Coalition, and is active in the ANSI/AIIM Standards program.

Working for Computer Sciences Corporation Financial Services Group as the principal consultant in these technologies, he often supports CSC projects in business transformation, workflow, image system conversions, and e-commerce. He is also personally available for talks and tutorials. Many of his technical papers are available on the web site www.plesums.com. For more information on Charlie's services, or services of a CSC team that might include Charlie, write to him at charlie@plesums.com or to cplesums@csc.com.

Delphi Consulting Group, Inc.

Founded in 1987, Delphi Consulting Group is the premier multipurpose consulting organization in the area of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS). Delphi is the originator of EDMS, having coined the acronym in 1987 to define a new business and market model focused exclusively on the key technologies shaping information systems of the 90s - Imaging, Workflow,Document Management, Text Retrieval and Multimedia.

Delphi was the first organization to develop and conduct seminars dedicated to Workflow and EDMS. Over the past six years our seminars -- Information Management: The Next Generation and Workflow: Joining the Islands of Automation -- have served as the introduction of these technologies to virtually every Fortune 500 company and major branch of both the U.S. and Canadian governments. These seminars are the most widely attended in the industry.

Delphi's consulting services include workflow analysis and business process redesign, requirements analysis, strategic planning, technology/product recommendations, and RFP development and review. The experience of Delphi's consultants in working with Workflow and EDMS solutions began in the late 1970s, and includes some of the largest EDMS in use today. Delphi's consultants have designed systems for a diverse group of clients in industries such as banking, utilities, insurance, consumer products, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Delphi Consultants have been published and quoted by virtually every major industry publication from Computerworld to InformationWeek and numerous business journals such as BusinessWeek, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Delphi is committed to providing not only the highest quality consulting, but also the highest level of support through its ongoing publications and market research. Delphi offers four subscription services covering the subjects of document management, workflow, imaging and text retrieval, including three comprehensive market reports and the only EDMS and Workflow news source, The Delphi Report. These market studies are consistently viewed as definitive sources of technical and market information on Workflow and EDMS.

The only methodologies developed explicitly for the design of EDMS: Electronic Document Design Methodology (EDDM)(tm) and Stair Step Methodology(tm), were developed by Delphi's president Thomas Koulopoulos. These methodologies provide a framework for re-engineering work processes for the benefits of EDMS. Unlike radical re-engineering models that require the decimation of existing infrastructures, Delphi's approach stresses a long term commitment to life cycle re-engineering and a thorough opportunity analysis.

Delphi's services also extend to the vendor side of the industry. Viewed as the primary source of insight and knowledge in the Workflow and EDMS market, Delphi has worked with many of the major vendors such as IBM, DEC, Apple, and AT&T as advisors on issues of product direction, market positioning, and industry trends. Consultants from Delphi have presented the keynote addresses at major international user groups for a variety of vendors.

While Delphi's strong working relationships with major EDMS vendors provides up-to-the-minute knowledge of leading-edge technology, Delphi greatly values its independence. Unlike other consulting organizations, Delphi is not affiliated with any vendor as a VAR, OEM, distributor or in any other fashion which provides for direct financial benefits from any vendor's product or service. This level of objectivity sets Delphi apart from other consulting organizations.

Delphi's tremendous breadth of experience and industry knowledge, across all Workflow and EDMS technologies, methods, and applications, provides a uniquely qualified source to assist with your evaluation, implementation, and investment decisions.

The MIRUS Group's mission is to help business process improvement consultants, both external and internal, improve their process for process improvement.

This mission is accomplished by developing methodology, training and education, and the development of software and other unique tools to implement the methodology faster and better.

MIRUS will be introducing in August a new book titled, "Understanding and Applying Value-Added Assessment," published by Quality Press. At the same time we will be introducing a unique new process mapping software that supports the methodology described in the book. The software requires no drawing nor dragging and dropping of symbols. It automatically color codes the map to denote non-value added steps, value-added steps, and where external resources are involved. Documentation can be embedded in each step.

We provide in-house workshops tailored to a specific process improvement team's needs to define and analyze processes. Included is a unique MIRUS Starter Kit, which provides teams with simple step by step instructions on how to define, diagram, document, analyze and redesign business processes. The Starter Kit jump-starts the improvement process so desired results are achieved faster and better.

Trying to make a comparative analysis of workflow products? You need the Workflow Comparative Study by industry analyst Martin Ader of W&GS.

For IT Directors, and Architects, Consultants and Analysts as well as Workflow vendors and VAR Product Marketing and Sales Directors, this detailed report provides a comprehensive framework for comparing workflow engines and products. It includes a competitive analysis of 12  workflow products developed by CSE Systems, Eastman Software, FileNet, Handysoft, BM, JetForm, InConcert, COSA Solutions, Staffware, Fujitsu, and W4.

W&GS, group technologies at work for enterprise benefits

W&GS provides services according to the following guidelines:

  • establish tailored strategies in order to use group technologies in the best possible way inside each enterprise for maximizing: innovation, quality of services and productivity
  • conduct analysis to detect most short term profitable opportunities;
  • define a three year project plan for deployment and costs/benefits measurements;
  • monitor progresses of pilots and line  projects, by measuring their distance to targeted goals and proposing necessary adjustments.

W&GS insists on quick identification of most probable targets, on precise analysis of costs and benefits before any decision, on the seriousness of the  infrastructure (network, servers), and on short pilot project (some month at most) for validation of hypothesis.

W&GS approach is collaborative and implies a strong commitment from enterprise management on short term goals.

W&GS works together with enterprise experts, while preserving enterprise unique strengths.

W&GS considers each enterprise as unique, whose identity and know how must be enforced. W&GS action follows a precise framework including:

  • a sharp training of upper management to limits and benefits of group technologies for the enterprise in the context of their own strategies,
  • assistance to managers that must remain in control  of their application decisions, it is only though their clear cooperation that applications really useful for the enterprise will be detected,
  • a special stress on short term choices that, because they enable rapid experimentation and results measurements, offer best chances of clear success.
