As a principal of National Systems, established proven approaches for
information resources management with Fortune 500 client organizations.
Designed, developed, and implemented decision-oriented management information
systems for clients in banking, transportation, manufacturing, health care,
publishing, and government.
Projects included strategic business planning, organizational studies, computer
resource planning, and general management consulting tasks associated with the
development of information centers, distributed processing, and office
automation. Participant in the General Motors Executive Training Program for
five years. Manager of Computer Systems and Programming one year with R.J.
Nabisco.
National Executive for Ernst & Young, a "Big 6" accounting firm
for eleven years. Recommended and established a National Systems Group to
provide counsel and computer services to clients and all divisions of the firm.
Developed systems and financial models used world wide, including a very
successful cost accounting program currently used in over 1500 organizations.
Served on a committee to establish standards and guidelines for E&Y's
professional staff. District Manager, E&Y: Responsible for projects
emphasizing the management of CPA cost controls, information systems planning
and design, computer programming, and financial analysis.
Director of Consulting for Database Design Inc., a computer systems software
firm for one year. Lead the consulting staff in the technology transfer required
when implementing the Information Engineering Workbench. Project Manager for a
large, international electronics firm for the development of the CASE tools now
being marketed worldwide. Conducted consulting, seminars, and education
associated with the latest strategy that utilizes a methodology linking upward
to business planning and downward to detailed database and application design.
National Systems consulting assignments included projects: International
Manufacturer — developed a worldwide information resource capability and
organizational structure with installations in France, England, and several in
the US. Bank holding company — designed a five-year strategic plan defining
information systems needs (cost justified) for each of the bank's departments
and computer processing for 119 correspondent banks, and cost justified the
recommended equipment and software.
Large semiconductor manufacturer — developed a worldwide system for processing
message and production scheduling data using satellite communication to the Far
East. Large aerospace corporation — developed a five-year strategic plan
addressing hardware needs, data communication, word processing, facsimile
transmission, electronic mail, teleconferencing, and voice communication. Also
designed a comprehensive organizational structure that incorporated these
information resources.
Health Care client — developed an information system plan including nurse and
in-patient scheduling, cost allocation, and marketing. Large electronics
manufacturer — designed a five-year strategic plan and conducted an executive
search for the corporate Communications Director. Areas of the plan included
voice and data communications, PBXs, office automation, teleconferencing,
facsimile transmission, Telex, and electronic mail. As a noted international
consultant with many worldwide corporations, I understand the business customs
and cultures of many countries.
My global experience began during a four-year tour of duty with the United
States Air Force in Europe. I have a Business Degree from the University of
Michigan, School of Business, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
